Got the stitches out, but....

So Chase got to have his stitches taken out yesterday. He was pretty excited. He was so brave and didn't even cry this time. On the way home from the doctor's office, we had to stop by Gabe's house to show him the "no stitches" Chase (and also pick up Amelie). As I said in my last post, boys will be boys, and Chase certainly didn't let a cut to the head stop him from playing rough. I don't know how he did it, but he bumped his head AGAIN while playing and SPLIT open half of his cut. Aaagggghhhh!

I called his doctor immediately who told me to take him back to the ER for possibly more stitches. Aaaaggghhh! I pleaded with him not to make me go back to that dreadful place again and reluctantly, he said to come back to his office. It turns out Rick was home from work by this time and took over since he could see I was losing it. He took Chase back to the doctor who GLUED his wound SHUT!

Now we have a "no running, no jumping rule, no anything rough" rule, but seriously, try keeping a 3 year old from doing any of these things. It's pretty much impossible. The unfortunate thing is that the scar we were trying so careful to minimize will now be even bigger for the rest of his life! Of course he doesn't care now, but I know someday he will.

What a little stinker! I love the first part of the story, can't believe they called the ambulance, then that he did it again is unbelievable. Good thing he is so sweet and funny.
I'm so sorry Amber. Having TWO boys, I know exactly how you feel. Our ER visits tend to be from giant falls and GIGANTIC tumor-sized goose eggs. My poor Mitchell has fallen and hit his head so many times I am seriously afraid he will have long-term brain defects. What is a mom to do? I am SO crossing my fingers that when we have our next baby it will be a girl.

Well, don't worry Amber, I'm sure GQ doesn't require a no scar male model on thier cover!! Hee hee. Yes boys will be boys.....Tyler called Dallin to fly a kite in a lightning storm the other day and I just about freaked out trying to convince them that it was a STUPID idea!!!(Dad of course was out of town, so he couldn't come to my rescue) Boys just like to be rough and dangerous and exciting....just pray that they don't kill themselves while they are at it!

OK so we can totally be friends. My boys Ah BOYS! Lets see all total combined between all my boys we have 4 sets of staples in the scalp. Then 8 sets of stitches. Yeah I think the ER needs to give us a VIP pass. Seriously I think if it wasn't for my boys they would go out of business. LOL well yep Boys will be boys for sure.
Wow! 4 visits and the year is not over! Boys will be boys!

To sum it up

To sum up the last 9 months... We went to Disney World and Universal in March with Rick’s family. It was a BLAST! Favorite part was Harry Potter world. Favorite ride was Rockin’ Roller coaster, or Hogwarts castle, or the Avatar ride.  Rick and I coached track March-May. It was fun but stressful. I like doing something for the community. I don’t like running a program w my husband and not enough adult help.   Kids finished school in May and we went on a camping trip Memorial weekend to St Joe State Park with our favorite people, Richardsons. Some other ward families came too. Marcellino’s and Smith’s.  Summer hit, Soleil got baptized, and Rick got a job offer to work for Cricut in Utah. Finally a job closer to family! We spent three very stressful weeks prepping our house for sale and then took off to Utah driving both our cars on July 13th.  The following week we vacationed in Lake Powell with my family. After coming home from that we settled into Heather’s basement ...

2019 is my year to Be Prepared

Last year I decided to make a goal that involved one phrase, no guilt. That phrase stuck in my mind all year long, and guided me through a lot of situations. I found by the end of the year, that I really had changed because of those two words. In all the years past that I have set goals, I have set very specific reachable things. I always find that a few months into the year my motivation drops off and I don’t follow through with the goal. By the end of the year I either feel disappointed in myself, or I can’t even remember what my goal was to begin with. Last year was different in a very good way. So I’ve decided to do the same thing this year. After pondering and praying about what my goal should be this year, I came up with the phrase be prepared. There are so many ways to be prepared in life, spiritually, physically, temporarily, etc. I find that a lot of my stress on a daily basis could be remedied if I had only spent a little time before hand to prepare for that moment for that s...

Golf date

We went on a group date Friday night with our best friends here in St Louis, Wilson’s and Richardson’s. We went to a new place in Chesterfield called Top Golf. We ate yummy food and visited while we hit golf balls off a platform. It was the first time I had ever hit golf balls in a real way, aside from miniature golf. It was harder than it looks. Everyone had fun and I came home sore.
