Pray for us

Poor Chase. Our sweet little 4 year old has caught a bad case of the Swine Flu and is now being hospitalized. We have been so worried about him, so please pray for us. We initially took him in because he was not breathing well (very quick and shallow breaths) and also because his fever was so high he started getting delusional (which really scared me). They admitted him Friday night, and he is still there. They have him breathing oxygen to help his lungs, and after an x-ray they detected pneumonia as well (which is common for the swine flu for people to get secondary infections). This poor little guy has seen enough of hospitals and keeps asking to go home. We're praying for his swift recovery. He's been so miserable. The cutest thing ever: Friday while he was still at home, he was feeling so miserable. He was laying down and I heard him mumbling something. The only words I caught were, "Heavenly Father....help me to get better....Amen". He felt so miserable that he said his very own little prayer to his Heavenly Father asking to get better all by himself. He is the sweetest child and it pains me to see him feeling so horrible. Please keep him in your prayers.

The hardest thing for me as a parent is not being able to be there to comfort him. With me being pregnant (and 3 weeks prior to my due date) I am very at risk with this flu, and have been advised to stay away. If I got this flu and went into labor, they would have to quarantine me from the baby. What an emotional roller coaster it has been juggling my role as a parent of an unborn child whom I don't know yet versus my role as Chase's mom, a child that I've known and grown to love over the past 4 years who needs me there. Please pray for me too.

Oh, poor little guy (and poor parents)! Bryn was reading this with me and she was very concerned and said, "That must really hurt." You'll be in our prayers.

Let us know if there is anything we can do. Do you need meals? I can take Amelie for the day. Whatever! Just call me. Love you guys!!!
Amber, I am so sorry Chase is sick! Jocelyn and Jonas were in the hospital earlier this year. It's scary! He is a sweet little boy and a tough one too! We'll definitely pray for him! Keep in touch girl! I haven't heard from you in forever! Also, you were right - I made a binkie baby cause I didn't give up and thank goodness cuz Jonas sure has a mouth on him! I use the ribbons all the time!

To sum it up

To sum up the last 9 months... We went to Disney World and Universal in March with Rick’s family. It was a BLAST! Favorite part was Harry Potter world. Favorite ride was Rockin’ Roller coaster, or Hogwarts castle, or the Avatar ride.  Rick and I coached track March-May. It was fun but stressful. I like doing something for the community. I don’t like running a program w my husband and not enough adult help.   Kids finished school in May and we went on a camping trip Memorial weekend to St Joe State Park with our favorite people, Richardsons. Some other ward families came too. Marcellino’s and Smith’s.  Summer hit, Soleil got baptized, and Rick got a job offer to work for Cricut in Utah. Finally a job closer to family! We spent three very stressful weeks prepping our house for sale and then took off to Utah driving both our cars on July 13th.  The following week we vacationed in Lake Powell with my family. After coming home from that we settled into Heather’s basement ...

2019 is my year to Be Prepared

Last year I decided to make a goal that involved one phrase, no guilt. That phrase stuck in my mind all year long, and guided me through a lot of situations. I found by the end of the year, that I really had changed because of those two words. In all the years past that I have set goals, I have set very specific reachable things. I always find that a few months into the year my motivation drops off and I don’t follow through with the goal. By the end of the year I either feel disappointed in myself, or I can’t even remember what my goal was to begin with. Last year was different in a very good way. So I’ve decided to do the same thing this year. After pondering and praying about what my goal should be this year, I came up with the phrase be prepared. There are so many ways to be prepared in life, spiritually, physically, temporarily, etc. I find that a lot of my stress on a daily basis could be remedied if I had only spent a little time before hand to prepare for that moment for that s...

Golf date

We went on a group date Friday night with our best friends here in St Louis, Wilson’s and Richardson’s. We went to a new place in Chesterfield called Top Golf. We ate yummy food and visited while we hit golf balls off a platform. It was the first time I had ever hit golf balls in a real way, aside from miniature golf. It was harder than it looks. Everyone had fun and I came home sore.
