It's been a good week

Since chase has been home from the hospital he has been improving every day. He did regular breathing treatments the first couple days to help his lungs, but now only needs them on an "as needed" basis. He's still taking his antibiotic too, but other than that he seems like a normal little boy again. Tuesday was a really hard day for me because it was his first day home, and I couldn't touch him or be around him. I was pretty much on the verge of tears all day long (I'm sure it had nothi g to do with pregnancy hormones). Friday was a special day because it was the first day the doctor said he shouldn't be contagious, and you better believe I gave him a big hug and kiss first thing in the morning. So now that he's feeling better, contagiousness has passed, and I haven't gotten sick, life is good and we are full swing ahead in preparing for new baby to arrive.

Today in church Chase got up and bore his testimony for the first time ever (with my help of course). I thoughtcit would be a good opportunity for him to remember his answered prayer and talk about it. I didn't pressure him, I just asked if he wanted to share his experience at the pulpit and I was surprised at how willing he was to do so. He shared his experience saying a prayer to meet the prophet, and his experience praying to get better, and that both prayers were answered. It was cute, short, and sweet, and I hope it's something he will remember someday. Of course I bore my testimony after him too, and it was a lovely moment.

It has been a good week, thanks to the Lord above.

Oh how sweet. You have a really special little boy. What great memories you are instilling in your children. He will make a great little missionary someday.

I love that he has such a strong testimony at such a young age! Good work Mom and Dad!

I'm so sad to hear that your family had to go through so much stress, but I'm super glad to know that Chase is well and that you and the baby weren't infected. We miss you guys!

We will miss your family's testimonies on fast Sunday. Tell Chase, Gabe is so excited to see him at Christmas...and, for that matter, we're excited to see you all as well.

Hey Amber, I am so sorry to hear about your fiasco with the swine flu. You helped me make the decision to get the swine flu shot and I have an appointment to do so tomorrow. I am 6 weeks from delivery and wasn't sure if I wanted to risk getting the shot or risk getting the flu. Thanks for your advice. I am so glad Chase is doing better. Good luck with the last few days of pregnancy and congrats on hanging in there!

To sum it up

To sum up the last 9 months... We went to Disney World and Universal in March with Rick’s family. It was a BLAST! Favorite part was Harry Potter world. Favorite ride was Rockin’ Roller coaster, or Hogwarts castle, or the Avatar ride.  Rick and I coached track March-May. It was fun but stressful. I like doing something for the community. I don’t like running a program w my husband and not enough adult help.   Kids finished school in May and we went on a camping trip Memorial weekend to St Joe State Park with our favorite people, Richardsons. Some other ward families came too. Marcellino’s and Smith’s.  Summer hit, Soleil got baptized, and Rick got a job offer to work for Cricut in Utah. Finally a job closer to family! We spent three very stressful weeks prepping our house for sale and then took off to Utah driving both our cars on July 13th.  The following week we vacationed in Lake Powell with my family. After coming home from that we settled into Heather’s basement ...

2019 is my year to Be Prepared

Last year I decided to make a goal that involved one phrase, no guilt. That phrase stuck in my mind all year long, and guided me through a lot of situations. I found by the end of the year, that I really had changed because of those two words. In all the years past that I have set goals, I have set very specific reachable things. I always find that a few months into the year my motivation drops off and I don’t follow through with the goal. By the end of the year I either feel disappointed in myself, or I can’t even remember what my goal was to begin with. Last year was different in a very good way. So I’ve decided to do the same thing this year. After pondering and praying about what my goal should be this year, I came up with the phrase be prepared. There are so many ways to be prepared in life, spiritually, physically, temporarily, etc. I find that a lot of my stress on a daily basis could be remedied if I had only spent a little time before hand to prepare for that moment for that s...

Golf date

We went on a group date Friday night with our best friends here in St Louis, Wilson’s and Richardson’s. We went to a new place in Chesterfield called Top Golf. We ate yummy food and visited while we hit golf balls off a platform. It was the first time I had ever hit golf balls in a real way, aside from miniature golf. It was harder than it looks. Everyone had fun and I came home sore.
