Big News

I haven't posted for a while, mainly because my camera has been broken and it's been in the shop and I'm waiting to get it back. Posting without pictures just isn't quite as exciting to me, but alas, I need to keep up with the goings on of our life for record sake.

So....Rick got a summer internship! We are so happy! Nothing was looking good and we were getting worried, and at the last minute the Lord came through for us. Rick got a call from a guy with ConAgra up in Boise offering him a paid position this summer!

some of the brands they own are:

He's going to be marketing for the Lamb Weston division on a healthy line of French Fries made from none other than Idaho Potatoes. Try them out if you see them at the store (they say ALEXIA at the top).

It was an answer to prayer, not only will we get to live close to my family for the summer, but we're going to live in my brother's house while he and his wife are away for the summer. It's just so perfect! And it's exactly the kind of position Rick was looking for so we feel like he didn't have to settle for something less. We feel so happy and blessed that everything is coming together and we thank The Lord.

As for sickness, we're still battling it. Despite greasing him up morning and night with cortisone and Eucerin, his impetigo on his cheeks came back and got really bad again. So I took him back to the doctor and got another prescription-strength cortisone. It's working again but slowly, and I just hate putting steroids on his body so much, but I don't really have a choice. I mentioned last post that i had a really bad stye last month. Well, it kind of got better, but not all the way, and has not gotten worse again. I went to the doctor yesterday for it, and he said it has turned into a chalazion, which has to be surgically removed. Crimeny! So I made an appointment for Monday. This isn't my eye, since I don't have my camera, but this is kind of what it looks like. Sorry if this is gross to anyone, I tried to pick the least gross picture.

And I've had this horrible cold for the past few weeks that just won't go away. My nose is dripping like water, but it's stuffy at the same time so I can't breathe, my throat is sore in the mornings, luckily no achiness though. I hate that. And my mouth is itchy and I'm sneezing all the time. I'm suspecting allergies, which I've never had in my life, so I guess now is a great time to get them. Anyway, I'm dealing with it but it's just annoying.

Other than that, the weather is warming up and we are enjoying playing outside a lot more and look forward to the warm weather staying. I love spring! Rick is almost done with his finals, hallelujah! And we can't wait to go up to Boise for the summer!

I sincerly hope you guys get over all these allergies soon. By the way, could Sawyer's rash be an allergy to something? Just a thought. You've been on my mind lately. I hope you are holding up okay.

To sum it up

To sum up the last 9 months... We went to Disney World and Universal in March with Rick’s family. It was a BLAST! Favorite part was Harry Potter world. Favorite ride was Rockin’ Roller coaster, or Hogwarts castle, or the Avatar ride.  Rick and I coached track March-May. It was fun but stressful. I like doing something for the community. I don’t like running a program w my husband and not enough adult help.   Kids finished school in May and we went on a camping trip Memorial weekend to St Joe State Park with our favorite people, Richardsons. Some other ward families came too. Marcellino’s and Smith’s.  Summer hit, Soleil got baptized, and Rick got a job offer to work for Cricut in Utah. Finally a job closer to family! We spent three very stressful weeks prepping our house for sale and then took off to Utah driving both our cars on July 13th.  The following week we vacationed in Lake Powell with my family. After coming home from that we settled into Heather’s basement ...

2019 is my year to Be Prepared

Last year I decided to make a goal that involved one phrase, no guilt. That phrase stuck in my mind all year long, and guided me through a lot of situations. I found by the end of the year, that I really had changed because of those two words. In all the years past that I have set goals, I have set very specific reachable things. I always find that a few months into the year my motivation drops off and I don’t follow through with the goal. By the end of the year I either feel disappointed in myself, or I can’t even remember what my goal was to begin with. Last year was different in a very good way. So I’ve decided to do the same thing this year. After pondering and praying about what my goal should be this year, I came up with the phrase be prepared. There are so many ways to be prepared in life, spiritually, physically, temporarily, etc. I find that a lot of my stress on a daily basis could be remedied if I had only spent a little time before hand to prepare for that moment for that s...

Golf date

We went on a group date Friday night with our best friends here in St Louis, Wilson’s and Richardson’s. We went to a new place in Chesterfield called Top Golf. We ate yummy food and visited while we hit golf balls off a platform. It was the first time I had ever hit golf balls in a real way, aside from miniature golf. It was harder than it looks. Everyone had fun and I came home sore.
