Another chain if unfortunate events

Well, the good news is most of our stuff arrived undamaged from Cali. The bad news is...MOST of it arrived.

There's a team that can be hired to assemble things for you after you move. The day we received our things, the assembler team came to put together our bunk beds, the trampoline, the TV, the washer/dryer, the patio swing, and the fridge. When they arrived, we found out the trampoline springs and screws were missing so they couldn't do that, the TV didn't work after they hooked it up, and they couldn't do the washer/dryer because the previous owners set was still hooked up and they weren't allowed to unhook and remove them. And they had no orders to do the patio swing or bunk beds. The fridge was fine. :)

So we had to submit a claim for the lost tramp parts, and submit an assembly request for the bunk beds, patio swing and W/D, and call a repair man to come look at the TV.  All requests were initially denied, so we had to make some phone calls to the right people and eventually got them approved. Now the beds, the swing and W/D are taken care of, but we are missing the board that goes under the mattress to keep the bed from falling through the slats. So we have to submit a claim for that too.

Then yesterday we found the tramp parts in a random box labeled "office". Hallelujah!  So I called and cancelled the claim on that and requested the assemblers to come back out. Unfortunately they discovered one of the poles is bent so badly the tramp frame can't be assembled properly. So now we have to submit a claim for that too and keep waiting. Ugh.

To sum it up

To sum up the last 9 months... We went to Disney World and Universal in March with Rick’s family. It was a BLAST! Favorite part was Harry Potter world. Favorite ride was Rockin’ Roller coaster, or Hogwarts castle, or the Avatar ride.  Rick and I coached track March-May. It was fun but stressful. I like doing something for the community. I don’t like running a program w my husband and not enough adult help.   Kids finished school in May and we went on a camping trip Memorial weekend to St Joe State Park with our favorite people, Richardsons. Some other ward families came too. Marcellino’s and Smith’s.  Summer hit, Soleil got baptized, and Rick got a job offer to work for Cricut in Utah. Finally a job closer to family! We spent three very stressful weeks prepping our house for sale and then took off to Utah driving both our cars on July 13th.  The following week we vacationed in Lake Powell with my family. After coming home from that we settled into Heather’s basement ...

2019 is my year to Be Prepared

Last year I decided to make a goal that involved one phrase, no guilt. That phrase stuck in my mind all year long, and guided me through a lot of situations. I found by the end of the year, that I really had changed because of those two words. In all the years past that I have set goals, I have set very specific reachable things. I always find that a few months into the year my motivation drops off and I don’t follow through with the goal. By the end of the year I either feel disappointed in myself, or I can’t even remember what my goal was to begin with. Last year was different in a very good way. So I’ve decided to do the same thing this year. After pondering and praying about what my goal should be this year, I came up with the phrase be prepared. There are so many ways to be prepared in life, spiritually, physically, temporarily, etc. I find that a lot of my stress on a daily basis could be remedied if I had only spent a little time before hand to prepare for that moment for that s...

Golf date

We went on a group date Friday night with our best friends here in St Louis, Wilson’s and Richardson’s. We went to a new place in Chesterfield called Top Golf. We ate yummy food and visited while we hit golf balls off a platform. It was the first time I had ever hit golf balls in a real way, aside from miniature golf. It was harder than it looks. Everyone had fun and I came home sore.
