12 Fun Facts About Me

1. I shop for my kids clothes almost exclusively online.  In fact, I shop for a lot of things online now.  Amazon is my new favorite friend, love prime shipping.  Just don't have the time with 4 kids to go to the store.  And almost every time I take them with me we meet disaster.

2. I love pre-19th century movies: Pride & Prejudice, Emma, Sense & Sensibility, Lark Rise to Candleford, etc....my new favorite is North & South.  It is SOOOO good!

3. I really love making things, and I have a burning desire to sew all the time.  I don't get to do it very often and I'm not as good as I think I am in my head, but I do I love it!

4. I'm a pinterest fan, thanks to Ellen Patton who put a "pinterest" link on her blog which I happened upon :)

5. I love classical music, don't know a lot about it, just love listening to it.  It's very calming.  I guess I really need external calming things in my life right now.  4 kids is pretty crazy.

6. I love being outside, I love smelling the air, the openness of the sky, the beauty of the earth, the freedom of my kids running and playing, the smell of campfire, taking walks, riding bikes, I just love outside.

7. I'm a journaler.  Not in the traditional journaling way, but a record keeper.  I love to document my family's life by blogging and online scrapbooking.  I use to really scrapbook but I only do that occasionally now, very occasionally.

8. I have a hard time going to bed at night, and then I regret it in the morning.

9.  I'm kind of impatient, my kids are helping me with that.

10.  I've recently begun coupon-ing.  At first I thought I was going to save tons of money.  Now I've realized I'm just saving some money, but I think it's still worth it.  It just feels good handing over tiny pieces of paper to the cashier in place of money.  It's a small rush, a very small one :)

11.  I'm an organizer.  I like things organized.  It makes me happy.  Doesn't mean I always get to have my house organized, but you can be assured that if I were childless it would be.  But hey, I guess my kids are worth it ;)

12. I'm too distracted by the South Carolina Presidential debate right now to think of #12.  Eleven should be enough about me.

Answers to Lindsey's Questions

1.  What are your 3 favorite things? (not people)
My movie collection, my pajamas, and my laptop

2.  What's the #1 played song on your ipod?
Don't listen to my ipod much, but I love Sweet Pea radio on Pandora (mostly jazz and french accordian music, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, etc) and my car radio is tuned to Siriusly Sinatra and Classical on XM.  I'm into "chill" music I guess.

3.  What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Cooking dinner.  If I were rich the first thing I would do is hire a cook, not my thing, wish it were but it's not.

4.  What was your favorite childhood toy?
Uhhh.....dressing up in Grandma Bonnies clothes.

5.  If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
Well, my first thought is 21 because my body was so healthy then, no achy back, no varicose veins, no headaches, no wrinkles.  But then I wouldn't have the 5 most important people in my life.  So I'm going to have to say 29 since our family is complete.  But wait, maybe this is a trick question.  Maybe I could remain 21 forever and still have my family :)  Yeah, that's what I would choose.

Hey! Have you watched Downton Abbey at all? The second season just started, but it's already aired over in England. It's WAY good! Though, a bit risque at times...you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it:)
Thanks for posting your blog link on Facebook. Your new entries weren't pulling up for me on my reader, made for some some good reading for me to catch up on how you guys are doing. Reading your posts make me sad we don't live closer... Like across the street close. We lay around in our pjs all day eating ice cream:). Or go to the zoo. Want to move to SLC?

To sum it up

To sum up the last 9 months... We went to Disney World and Universal in March with Rick’s family. It was a BLAST! Favorite part was Harry Potter world. Favorite ride was Rockin’ Roller coaster, or Hogwarts castle, or the Avatar ride.  Rick and I coached track March-May. It was fun but stressful. I like doing something for the community. I don’t like running a program w my husband and not enough adult help.   Kids finished school in May and we went on a camping trip Memorial weekend to St Joe State Park with our favorite people, Richardsons. Some other ward families came too. Marcellino’s and Smith’s.  Summer hit, Soleil got baptized, and Rick got a job offer to work for Cricut in Utah. Finally a job closer to family! We spent three very stressful weeks prepping our house for sale and then took off to Utah driving both our cars on July 13th.  The following week we vacationed in Lake Powell with my family. After coming home from that we settled into Heather’s basement ...

2019 is my year to Be Prepared

Last year I decided to make a goal that involved one phrase, no guilt. That phrase stuck in my mind all year long, and guided me through a lot of situations. I found by the end of the year, that I really had changed because of those two words. In all the years past that I have set goals, I have set very specific reachable things. I always find that a few months into the year my motivation drops off and I don’t follow through with the goal. By the end of the year I either feel disappointed in myself, or I can’t even remember what my goal was to begin with. Last year was different in a very good way. So I’ve decided to do the same thing this year. After pondering and praying about what my goal should be this year, I came up with the phrase be prepared. There are so many ways to be prepared in life, spiritually, physically, temporarily, etc. I find that a lot of my stress on a daily basis could be remedied if I had only spent a little time before hand to prepare for that moment for that s...

Golf date

We went on a group date Friday night with our best friends here in St Louis, Wilson’s and Richardson’s. We went to a new place in Chesterfield called Top Golf. We ate yummy food and visited while we hit golf balls off a platform. It was the first time I had ever hit golf balls in a real way, aside from miniature golf. It was harder than it looks. Everyone had fun and I came home sore.
