Swensen Sentral

Soleil can climb up on the table now (and everything else), and learned how to go down the stairs.  There are no limits now.  Dang it.

I was driving home from Wal-mart tonight, and suddenly realized today was a very important day, and I hadn't even celebrated.  Exactly one year ago today our family drove into the Santa Clarita valley, to become Californians, and to make this place home.  Soleil was just 6 weeks old, Sawyer 20 months, Amelie 4, Chase 6, Me 29 and Rick 31.  We've been here for 1 year now, and I quite like the place.  I know my way around pretty well, am completely moved into my home including wall hangings, the kids have made great friends, Chase completed one year of school, Amelie one year of preschool, Rick one year (almost) working for Nestle and loving it, and I have made the best friends ever.  Although some other things haven't exactly gone our way, we are trying to make the best of it, and learning and growing and stretching and all that kind of stuff that hurts. Made the long drive from Provo to Sacramento yesterday with the kiddos. So difficult but so worth it. Grandpa Tom's funeral today was the most beautiful ever. The life sketch was perfect. The testimonies were perfect. And Dallin sang the most beautiful rendition of O My Father I've ever heard. Reminded me of what's important in life. I hope I don't forget when I leave. So grateful to have had such a wonderful example in my life. Love you Grandpa! See you again!
