Swensen Sentral

We had a joint swim party for Chase & Gabe the following Saturday since their birthdays are so close. Chase loooooves the water and we found this nice little beach not too far from our house. It's on a lake so the water isn't as cold as the ocean and he loved it! He loves to eat cupcakes....the frosting that is.

I can't believe Chase turned 3 today. Last night as I lay in bed I thought back on the night exactly 3 years ago when I felt my first contraction. I remember lying in bed trying to sleep and finally getting up around 2am cuz I couldn't wait any longer. The next day our lives changed forever when Chase came into our family. Time sure flies and it has been 3 wonderful years of this happy bubbly little boy. As you can see, we took him to the zoo, and he LOVED IT! Pictures just didn't do it justice, so I uploaded some videos below for you to see some of his favorite moments. What Chase does best....ROAR! Can anyone say "bed-head"? Miss Amelie can sure look cute when I fix her up, but when she wakes up her hair often looks like this. Professor Chase put this whole 45 piece dinosaur puzzle together by himself. He couldn't see all that well at first, so he borrowed Mr. Potato Head's glasses and as soon as he put them on everything became much clearer. (He really did wear the glasses the whole time he put the puzzle together. It's amazing he was able to see at all) I found these 2 superheros running around town and asked if I could get a picture. They said as long as I was quick, because they had some saving the world to do.

Chase loves watching the ducks. He's an animal lover like his mother. Can you see the scheming look upon her face? This is what happened when she wouldn't stand still for the pictures. Don't worry, I caught her before she hit the water.

On Friday last week there was a charity event down at Fenway park, which we were invited to go to. It was awesome because the whole park was open and FREE! You could go anywhere! We sat down in the front in the million-dollar seats, the ones that people inherit like on Fever Pitch and nobody can pay enough to have them. Some businesses around town had put together baseball teams and they were playing each other on the field. The kids had fun climbing up and down the stairs, and up and down, and up and down, you get my drift. Couldn't get them to hold still for a picture cuz they were having too much fun.

We spent our Memorial Day visiting Harvard campus. We followed a tour around and got to hear some of the amazing and funny history of this great school, and enjoy the beautiful campus! Rick followed tradition by rubbing the lucky toe of Mr. Harvard himself (a statue) for good luck. We really wanted to go camping for Memorial Day but since our plans didn't work out, we camped out in our backyard instead. We all cuddled up on our queen-size air mattress and watched a movie. It was fun!

I'm slowing decorating our home and these are a few of the improvements I've made lately. I FINALLY finished staining/painting this darn table and it is now a HUGE project off my back (it use to be white and a light stain). Who knew it would take so long and cost so much to refinish a table, but I'm quite happy with the outcome. I can't really say it was all worth it yet, but I do love it. I ordered this cute black/cream print to make some valances and finally got that done, and I finally found a wall arrangement that I liked in the living room. I also added a pink princess chair for Amelie to match Chase's Mater chair, they look so cute sitting in them together side-by-side watching tv.

Chase had a little accident this morning. He bumped his chin on the side of the bathtub and cut it open. Luckily it didn't bleed a ton, but I could see it was a gaping wound. I took him to the nearest ER to see if he needed stitches and sure enough, he got 5. Would it be wrong to say he was brave if he was screaming during the whole procedure "Get this off! Ow, that hurts! Mama! Take it off!" I think not. Any (almost) 3 year old that endures 5 stitches deserves to be called brave, no matter what happened. Surprisingly, he thanked the doctor afterwards for making his chin feel better, and with a popsicle in one hand and a new toy car in the other, he was in good spirits.

When I was little my dad use to life us up high into the air on his feet and we would fly like airplanes. This is now one of my kids' favorite things to do too.
