My Birthday - 28!

If you asked me how my birthday was going in the morning, I would say fantastic. Rick took me to see New Moon, and we had lunch afterward at Five Guys, this yummy new burger joint here in Utah. It was delicious. But ask me in the afternoon how things were going, and I would say miserable. Poor little Amelie tried to pick up the wrong end of a hot curling iron and scorched her hand. She was in terrible pain and crying for the longest time. I couldn't get her to take her hand out of cold water for like 6 hours. It ruined her fun outing with dad to the football game, which meant that I had to stay home and take care of her AND the new baby, on my birthday, instead of going out and having fun with my mom. BUT, my sweet husband new just what to say and do to make me feel better, and my family threw me a wonderful party that evening that made me feel so special. We had the most delicious chocolate cake ever! And I got some fun gifts that I'm so excited to use, especially my ...

Meeting Brother & Sister

We brought Sawyer home to some very excited siblings. Chase and Amelie could hardly contain their excitement when we pulled in. They rushed out of the house and practically tackled each other to be the first to climb in the back door of the car and take a peak. Then they ran around in circles on the driveway chanting "We have a baby! We have a baby!" It was quite comical.

...BOY! Baby #3 arrived yesterday, Nov 16th at 7:33pm weighing in at 9lbs 7oz and 22in long. He was a BIG surprise in many ways. First, I fully expected a girl so upon hearing "it's a boy!" I kept thinking "it's not MY boy". And second, he was BIG! I kept saying all along "this has got to be a big baby" but I wasn't expecting a 9 1/2 pounder. What a shock. We've almost decided on a name so we'll let you know as soon as it's final. For now, enjoy a few photos. I had a non-stress test yesterday and because the baby's HR dipped a bit during a mild contraction, they suggested I get induced. Not fun if you're planning to labor unmedicated, but it worked out in the end. I made it through, thanks to a wonderful and supportive husband and 2 great midwives. From start to finish it was about 4 1/2 hours. Just arrived. Still has that swollen face look but precious nonetheless. Getting to know mommy. Proud parents.

Still waiting...

Well, I'm now officially 2 days past my due date and this baby is still snug in my belly. My mom has been here for a week waiting because I was so sure it was coming early. Well, I'll know for next time, if there is a next time. I'm hoping it comes soon, very soon, as in like tonight maybe?

Still no baby,..

Tomorrow is my official due date, and this baby still hasn't come. I was so sure he/she would be arriving early in this world, but nope. I guess the tradition of being late will carry on. I even started having contractions on Monday and Tuesday, but they have since gone away. I've tried everything I know, fast walking, curb walking, Red Raspberry tea, even stripping my membranes, but this baby just wants to stay inside a little longer. Cross your fingers for me that maybe it'll make its debut tomorrow, Friday the 13th! And I'll actually have a child on time for once.

The Latest...

I'm now just one week away from my due date (11/13) and I think I'm ready to pop. What do you think?

It's been a good week

Since chase has been home from the hospital he has been improving every day. He did regular breathing treatments the first couple days to help his lungs, but now only needs them on an "as needed" basis. He's still taking his antibiotic too, but other than that he seems like a normal little boy again. Tuesday was a really hard day for me because it was his first day home, and I couldn't touch him or be around him. I was pretty much on the verge of tears all day long (I'm sure it had nothi g to do with pregnancy hormones). Friday was a special day because it was the first day the doctor said he shouldn't be contagious, and you better believe I gave him a big hug and kiss first thing in the morning. So now that he's feeling better, contagiousness has passed, and I haven't gotten sick, life is good and we are full swing ahead in preparing for new baby to arrive. Today in church Chase got up and bore his testimony for the first time ever (with my help...
