Big Day

We fulfilled our promise to the kids and became the proud new parents of a little Borador today. I'm convinced she's the cutest thing this side of the Mississippi! (Funny that we actually live by the Mississippi now). Still working on a name, but she is quickly stealing our hearts.  I must admit that I'm surprised how excited Rick has been about this. Didn't know he was such an animal lover.  She's all tuckered out. It was a long day of playing, hardly eating, sleeping, and learning to got to the bathroom outside and not in the house. Oh and her first walk on a leash. She was seriously pooped when we put her to bed. Just the way we like it. :)

Another chain if unfortunate events

Well, the good news is most of our stuff arrived undamaged from Cali. The bad news is...MOST of it arrived.   There's a team that can be hired to assemble things for you after you move. The day we received our things, the assembler team came to put together our bunk beds, the trampoline, the TV, the washer/dryer, the patio swing, and the fridge. When they arrived, we found out the trampoline springs and screws were missing so they couldn't do that, the TV didn't work after they hooked it up, and they couldn't do the washer/dryer because the previous owners set was still hooked up and they weren't allowed to unhook and remove them. And they had no orders to do the patio swing or bunk beds. The fridge was fine. :)  So we had to submit a claim for the lost tramp parts, and submit an assembly request for the bunk beds, patio swing and W/D, and call a repair man to come look at the TV.  All requests were initially denied, so we had to make some phone calls to the right p...

We must be magnets for people's stuff

So the people who packed us up in CA left their huge clipboard with carbon copy receipts and paperwork behind. The people who disassembled our stuff also left their clipboard and receipts behind. And when we got here, the movers left a dolly behind. Then I was joking with the reassembler guys about all the stuff that crews keep leaving at our house, and after they left I found their entire wrench set.  What the!?!  Then today they came back to finish assembling our trampoline and drove away with the back doors of their van open!  They didn't notice until after something fell out. They got out and shut the doors and proceeded to drive away without noticing the stuff that fell out. I had to catch them and tell them so they could turn around and go get it.  I was laughing so hard after they left. Bahahahaha!

Pics of the house

Some pics of our house before we moved in.  Looking forward to transforming it into my own home soon! My favorite thing is the big windows and the forest behind.  Such a beautiful way to wake up every morning to the trees and the birds singing.  Excited to see what they look like in summer!  Oh and Fall, that's got to be gorgeous!

Moving in day

Long day.  Movers came.  Movers went.  Lots of boxes.  Got my furniture back.  So happy to see it.  Not happy to be missing some of it.  Glad to be going to bed now.  Long day of unpacking tomorrow.  Long few weeks of unpacking ahead. Maybe months.  We'll see.  I'm tired.  Good night.
