If Amelie won AFV

We watched our favorite family show AFV. Afterwards Amelie says, "I wanna win $10,000 so we can spend it getting more toys...and buy some milk."  What? Does she think we are too poor to buy milk? Is that her drink of choice for a good time? What is she thinking? Oh to be inside the mind of a child.

It's (almost) official

Visited the courtroom today. The judge decreed Soleil Caroline Swensen's name official! We celebrated afterwards with ice cream. Now we just have to send for the birth certificate amendment and new social security card.

The Birthday Boy

A $100 A trip to The Disney Store A new Lego set A macaroni and hotdogs dinner A blue Batman cake A movie with dad (Ironman 3) A late night  Another good day I can't believe this boy is 8! What a wonderful little man I have. I love you so much Chase.

And she turned 2

It was a good day.

Happy 2nd Birthday my little Soleil Caroline

On June 6, 2011 you were welcomed into the world with lots of love! How would we ever have known that a 7 lb 15 oz little person would be this much trouble and this much fun?! I can hardly believe that it has been 2 whole years since we welcomed this little girl to our family.  She has managed to grab the heart of both her mommy and daddy, as well as all 3 of her siblings over these past 2 years.  Although she knows how to push everyone's buttons, and she is really good at testing boundaries, we all adore her and can't imagine our family without her.  She says the cutest things, does the funniest things, pretends to be grown up like everyone around her, and brings us lots of smiles and laughs.  She was definitely born with a mind of her own, a strong desire to make her own choices and not be swayed by anyone.  This is partly why she seems so unfriendly at times when people try to hold her or talk to her. ...

A blessing

When we show desire and move forward with faith, the Lord truly blesses us. On Sunday (May 25th), I woke up and remembered that I hadn't fasted this month on the real fast Sunday. I have a hard time going without food because I get lightheaded and shaky and then a headache.  It feels like my body starts shutting down without sustenance (not so fun when you're wrestling kids in church).  I just remembered that morning that I still needed to fast, so hesitantly I decided to do it.  I kneeled down and opened my fast with a prayer and a purpose (which I don't always do). I decided to fast for help teaching my kids the gospel because with Chase's upcoming 8th birthday I've been feeling worried that I haven't prepared him enough for baptism.  After my prayer, I got up and went about my morning getting myself and the kids ready for church.  The blessing I noticed was that I did not feel hungry through the whole of church, not even after church when we came home and...
